Install as App

    This installs Runnit on your phone or computer like a normal app. It opens faster, is easy to find, and helps keep notifications reliable.

    Quick overview

    Installing the app does not require the App Store or Google Play. You are simply adding a shortcut that behaves like an app.

    • You still use your normal browser to install it.
    • It looks and feels like a real app once installed.
    • Installing it usually gives the best notification experience.

    iPhone & iPad (Safari)
    1. Unlock your iPhone or iPad.
    2. Open Safari (the blue compass icon).
    3. Go to runnit.app.
    4. Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow).
    5. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
    6. Tap “Add” in the top-right corner.
    7. Find the Runnit icon on your home screen and open it.
    Push notifications on iOS
    Push notifications require iOS 16.4+ and only work when Runnit is launched from the home screen (installed PWA). Allow notifications when prompted.
    Android (Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet)
    1. Unlock your phone.
    2. Open Chrome (or your usual browser).
    3. Go to runnit.app.
    4. Tap the menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
    5. Tap “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.
    6. Tap “Install” or “Add”.
    7. Find the Runnit icon on your home screen and open it.
    Android tip
    If you don’t see the install option, update your browser or try Chrome. Some browsers hide the install prompt until you visit Runnit a second time.
    Windows (Chrome or Edge)
    1. Open Chrome or Edge.
    2. Go to runnit.app.
    3. Look for the install icon in the address bar (a small computer with a down arrow).
    4. Click the install icon or open the browser menu (⋯).
    5. Select “Install Runnit”.
    6. Open Runnit from the Start menu or pin it to your taskbar.
    macOS (Safari, Chrome, or Edge)
    1. Open Safari, Chrome, or Edge.
    2. Go to runnit.app.
    3. Safari: click the Share button and choose “Add to Dock”.
    4. Chrome/Edge: click the install icon in the address bar, then choose “Install Runnit”.
    5. Open Runnit from your Dock or Applications folder.
    macOS note
    If you use Safari, make sure macOS and Safari are up to date so “Add to Dock” appears.
    ChromeOS (Chromebook)
    1. Open Chrome.
    2. Go to runnit.app.
    3. Click the install icon in the address bar.
    4. Click “Install”.
    5. Pin Runnit to your shelf if you want quick access.
    Linux (Chrome, Edge, Brave)
    1. Open Chrome, Edge, or Brave.
    2. Go to runnit.app.
    3. Click the install icon in the address bar.
    4. Confirm the install.
    5. Launch Runnit from your applications menu.
    Enable push notifications

    In Runnit

    • Go to Settings → Notifications.
    • Turn on the notification types you want.

    In your browser/OS

    • Allow notifications for runnit.app when asked.
    • Make sure notifications are turned on in device settings.
    • Disable Focus/Do Not Disturb while testing.

    Platform specifics

    • iOS: Settings → Notifications → Runnit. Turn on Allow Notifications and badges.
    • Android: Settings → Apps → Runnit → Notifications. If alerts are delayed, turn off battery optimization for Runnit.
    • Desktop: Check browser site permissions and the system notification settings.
    Troubleshooting checklist
    • Open Runnit from the installed app icon (not the browser tab).
    • Confirm you are signed in.
    • Confirm notifications are enabled in Settings → Notifications.
    • Check that runnit.app is not blocked in browser permissions.
    • Restart the app and your device after enabling notifications.
    • If install options are missing, update your browser and visit Runnit twice, or try a Chromium-based browser.
    • On iOS, ensure you are on iOS 16.4+ and installed from Safari.
