    Invites, RSVPs, and waitlists

Learn what each status means, which invite actions can or cannot happen again later, and when payment or liability rules are relevant to your event.

This is where most product caveats matter: status changes, payments, waitlists, and decline rules.•Guide step 4 of 5

    Event invite flow
    • Invited: You have been invited but haven’t responded yet.
    • Confirmed: You are in and have a spot.
    • Waitlist: The event is full, but you are in line for a spot and will be notified if something opens up.
    • Declined: You’re not attending.
    • Pending: You were offered a spot and need to respond before the response window ends.
    • Pending payment: A spot may be held for you, but payment is needed before full confirmation.
    Timing matters
RSVP early. Declining quickly helps organizers refill spots, and quick responses help you secure openings.
    Declines are final for re-invites
If you decline an event invite, admins do not re-send that same invite later. If the event rules still allow it, you may still be able to self-RSVP back into the event or join the waitlist yourself.
    How waitlists work

When an event is full, you can join the waitlist. If a spot opens, Runnit notifies you. Some events auto-promote in order, others alert everyone on the waitlist and are first come, first served.

    • Watch for notifications and confirm quickly.
    • If you miss your response window, the opening can move on.
    • Drop-in events do not use season or league priority windows.
    RSVPs on sub requests

Sub requests are player-to-player requests to fill a spot. When you respond, the creator can approve you or choose someone else.

    • Respond to signal your availability.
    • Withdraw if you are no longer available.
    • If approved, you are expected to show up and communicate clearly.
    Be responsive
Fast replies help organizers and teammates finalize lineups.
    Paid-event caveat
On some paid events, withdrawing after you secured a spot can leave you financially liable until your place is refilled or an organizer releases that liability. This does not apply to every league or event.
